Budapest was very interesting to visit. While reminiscent of Vienna in the sense that it was once part of the Austro-Hungarian empire and much of the architecture is similar, if not outright duplicated, it’s most recent history has led it in a very different path. It remains stunningly beautiful despite some of the utilitarian monstrosities erected by the communists!

My "hostel" really was a glimpse into a bygone era, where all were equally free to have unusable television sets and ghastly state-made furniture!

The Hungarian Parliament at sunset.

The Széchenyi Chain Bridge

The same bridge with Buda Castle in the background.

One of the largest and most beautiful synagogues in the world.

I really liked the white, boxy shape of the Erzsébet híd bridge.
