After staying a few days in Budapest, I headed on over to Bratislava. I was surprised to find how similar it was to Germany: so clean and beautiful. But then again, it used to be Preßburg after all!
I was alone on this part of my trip, but I really enjoyed getting to know the small old town of Bratislava. It was very walkable, and I enjoyed unusually nice weather while there.

An empty fountain behind the Grassalkovich Palace (the seat of the Slovakian president).

The Slavín war memorial commemorates the fallen Soviet liberators of WWII. A hike to get to, but well worth it for the view!

A view of the Bratislava Castle from the war memorial.

A different view of the same.

A view of the New Bridge from an overpass.

The Nový Most (New Bridge) is supposed to look like an alien spaceship has landed in Bratislava, and it even has a restaurant inside the disc at the top!
