  1. Hi Brijhette,
In your blog, you mentioned “Das Experiment”… how does that work? I received a DAAD Undergraduate Scholarship to study in Jena during the Summer semester 2011, and I think it would be great to spend some time with a host family before my studies start.

    Thanks for your help!

  2. Hi Marissa!

Congrats on your DAAD Scholarship – you will surely have a blast! “Das Experiment” is very simple – here’s the link http://www.experiment-ev.de/site/content/view/374/354/lang,german/. The application you can download from the right-hand side, and it asks general questions: where are you studying (they will try and place you in the same town, but list other cities in case), your hobbies, previous travels etc, if you would like to stay with a host family for 2, 3, or 4 weeks, and other items. DAAD will pay half of the costs – a great deal! With the application you send a picture and a short introductory letter, and then after a little while you receive an email from Experiment e.V. and then one from your host family, and go from there. I absolutely LOVE my host family and hope you will be graced the same.

    Deutschland wartet auf Dich!

    MfG, Brijhette

  3. Hi Brijhette!
Thanks so much for the information! It looks like a great program…and so nice of DAAD to pay half the cost. I think I’ll definitely have to take advantage of it! Enjoy the rest of your time in Deutschland =]
